Casa la Reina offers the perfect backdrop for your next vacation. Sipping cocktails poolside, a quiet evening in to connect, spectacular valley views, once you get here, you may not want to leave. If you are inclined to venture out and experience all that Tamarindo and Costa Rica offer, we are here to help.

We’re staffed by locals who know the best spots, hidden gems and unique experiences that make your vacation unforgettable. We’re here to guide, recommend and arrange all that the area has to offer. Just ask! We love sharing our little corner of paradise with our guests.

Enjoy the abundance of the lush jungle and beautiful rainforests surrounding Tamarindo with an eco-tour. Soar over the jungle canopy, plunge into a waterfall or take in the incredible natural beauty on a hike.

Everyone should try surfing at least once in their lifetime. Know the sheer bliss or “surfer’s high” that comes with catching a wave at one of the world’s best surf beaches. Tamarindo has plenty of classes for all levels, ranging from one-on-one lessons to groups of four or more. The main strip in Tamarindo has several surf shops running lessons daily.

The Tamarindo area is known for fishing and excursions. Private charters can set out for a fun day and a great catch.. The waters around Tamarindo offer a large selection of fish, including yellowfin tuna, mahi-mahi, red snapper, roosterfish, rainbow fish, sailfish and many more!

Discover Tamarindo and the surrounding areas by ATV or quadbikes. These are a fun and popular way to get around in the area. Take a ride on horseback down the main Tamarindo beach or on one of the designated trails. Guanacaste is Costa Rica’s cowboy country, and horseback riding is a favorite activity in the area.

Hitting the open water gives a new perspective on the beauty of Costa Rica’s Pacific coastline. See the jungle give way to the ocean, and if you are lucky, catch a glimpse of the local aquatic wildlife, including sting rays, sea turtles, dolphins and even whales. Evening cruises, including food and drink, make for an unforgettable experience.

The Saturday Farmer’s Market in Tamarindo is always a good time! With everything from fresh produce to local artisans selling their handcrafts like jewelry and clothing to artisanal products like homemade jams, this market has something for everyone.

Transportation from airports and to Tamarindo

Casa La Reina is accessable by road from both of Costa Rica’s international airports. We recommend flying into Liberia’s Daniel Oduber International Airport (LIR), Guanacaste, approximately a 1-hour and a 20-minute drive to the villa. The second option is the capital of Costa Rica, San José (Juan Santamaria International Airport – SJO), approximately a 4-5 hour drive, traffic dependent.

We are happy to arrange private transportation, private coach, or aircraft landing in Tamarindo, for your arrival to Casa La Reina from either airport, or you are welcome to rent a vehicle at the airport from your selected car rental agency.
